The Imperial Bank is the central bank of the Holy Germanian Empire from 1876 to present. The Consistution of Holy Germanian Empire refered to the Bank many times, though it was not in existence at the time. On 1 January 1876, Emperor Willhelm I of Holy Germania, under his own power, and with the opposition of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, granted an Imperial Charter and Imperial Authorization to the Bank and affirmed it as the national bank of the Empire, and executed his own charter without the Chancellor's apporval. Hermand Dochd, according to the Charter, became the first president of the Bank, directly appointed by the Emperor.
