Joseph Caulton, born Joseph Dean Owen Graham, (born 14 March 1960) is a New Herswegian actor. He began acting in 1980, and is well-known for being one of the biggest actors of the 1980s and early 1990s. He is also known for playing high-school football coach William Alkarron in the Cayenne High film series in the 2000s/2010s.
Caulton became a naturalised citizen of Dragoonasag on 1 January 1999, and holds dual citizenship.
Early life
Caulton was born Joseph Dean Owen Graham on 14 March 1960 at John Macalindus Hospital in Newfield, New Herswick. He lived with his family in Newfield during his early childhood. In 1973, his mother, Gretchen, left his father, Owain "Owen", and he and his brother left with her. In 1974, they moved to Dragoonasag, and in 1976, the boys' mother married Noah Caulton. Joseph and his brother Craig then took the last name Caulton. Caulton attended Badentown South High School in the state of Madagonia, where he played football for the school's Wildcats football team as the quarterback from 1976 to 1978.
Career
1980s
In 1979, Caulton left Madagonia and relocated to Jord City to pursue a career in show business. In 1980, he managed to get a minor role in the movie What You Do After This, in which his screen time was only three minutes out of the two-hour-long film. After appearing in the film, Caulton was told by Dragoonish-born co-star William Otzenborg that he "might as well just pack up and leave" because "it's hard for a New Herswegian to make it in show business in Dragoonasag". Caulton chose instead to search for bigger roles. In 1981, he was cast as Jacob Roberts in Their True Intentions, and played a starring role. He was said to have said to Otzenborg on 3 November 1982, "And you said it was hard for a New Herswegian to make it in show business here." Caulton would go on to appear in the films The South Side of Badentown (1983), Worse Intentions (1984), Donald & Rufus Go to Flowers Island (1985), and Good for Them (1986), playing major roles in all of those films. In 1987, he began playing Cole Chratton on the television series Detectives in Mangden.
