Lein, "one fifth" is a Kiurandir word referring to the centre-most area of Astolan. It also refers to a literary commune and musical movement, both developed by Kiurandir refugees in the Golden City under the reign of the pseudo-Queen Albi. Lein was the last coherent word spoken by the revolutionary leader Cherilin. When applied to the land in Astolan, Lein's archaic name was Lilan, as recorded in the Bailot Treaty.
