State Route 477 begins at National Route 801 in Hayden Township in McLaughlin County. It continues northwest, turns more north, and continues toward the small town of Kecker. Afterwards, State Route 477 continues into rural Salviana, not entering another town until Gezzimack. Between Kecker and Gezzimack, State Route 477 turns more west, northeast, northwest again, due north, and then northeast again. After leaving Gezzimack, State Route 477 turns more north, toward its north end at State Route 374 in Riverton.
